Dog Player Stats are 12 season-long statistics
that the league tracks for each player. Most categories
are self-explanatory; Player Points, Points Behind,
Attendance, etc. Average Out is the number at which
a player averages being knocked out, higher numbers
are better. Conversely, Average Finish is the average
rank at which a player finishes each week, and lower
numbers are better. Total Winnings and Net Earnings
figures do not include amounts raked and/or won for
food, year-end prizes, or weekly bounties. Numbers in
parentheses denote rank in that category. See below
for an explanation of Player Points. Averages require
at least 2 data-points for sampling.
Overall
Player Rankings are based on a player's all-around
season performance. They are determined by ranking the
sum of a player's best finish and their ranks in each
of the following statistics: Average Points, Average
Out, Average Finish, Cashing Percentage, Total Winnings,
and Net Earnings. At least 3 events are needed for overall
rankings.
Final
Table Points are the sum of Player Points from
a player's best 7 weeks of the season. For example,
if you have played 10 events only your best 7 scores
are counted, dropping your 3 lowest scores from the
sum. Players either gain or lose Final Table chips throughout
the season commensurate with their points in relation
to the leader's points; the points leader earns 10,000
chips, the remaining players earn chips equal to their
player/leader points ratio times 10,000. Points totals
at year's end determine a player's Final Table chip
count.
The top 16
Final Table Points leaders will move on to play at the
year-end Poker Dog Final Table Championship, and vie
for a share of the Championship cash pool collected
during the season. Final Table seating is determined
by final season rankings.
Player
Points are based on a player's weekly finishes,
and points are enhanced by field size and entry fees.
Technically, it's the square root of attendance divided
by the square root of a player's finish multiplied by
a factored logarithm of entry fees, all multiplied by
ten. Sound complex? It is. But it just means that wherever
you finish, you get more Player Points for higher placement,
a larger field, and higher entry fees.
The top 10
Total Player Points leaders at the end of the season
will be awarded a share of the Player Points cash pool
collected during the season, based on the schedule on
the Player Points Standings page.
Players
must attend a minimum of 7 events to qualify
for the Final Table chip race and Player Points payouts.
All projected payouts are based on current averages.
