Chilly Dog Winter League
and Brian "Huey" Donahue are again throwing
their annual "D-Tier" event, but with a new
twist. From now on, it's the Chilly
Bowl Winter Warmer, and along with the annual mid-winter
party and Ice Bowl food drive, it's our first annual chili
cook-off.
Everyone
loves all of those incredible volunteer chili recipes
every year. So much so, that in an effort to increase
the participation (amount of chili) and fun we're starting
the Chilly Bowl, a winter chili cook-off with actual judging
and prizes. We will supply some money for entrants for
recipe supplies, judges (to named later), a stove and
oven on site for warming, electricity for crock-pots,
bowls and spoons, crackers, cheese & onions, etc.
For those considering entering a favorite chili recipe:
- All ingredients
should be pre-cooked & treated prior to the event
– chili is to be brought “ready-to-eat”.
- Contestants should provide their
own pots and serving utensils.
- We ask that each contestant be
responsible for policing and cleaning up their area at
the end of the day.
- We ask that contestants make
a minimum of four (4) quarts chili.
- Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
place chili recipes.
Anyone wishing
to participate in the cook-off should please contact Brian
Donahue at 612 554 0659. We will be actively recruiting
past participants and others as well. Stay tuned, more details
coming soon!
As
for the Winter Warmer side of the day, just like every
year we'll have some fun extra holes, special first place
prizes free CTPs, mando belly-warmers, thirst quenchers,
etc., and super ultra double happiness fun!
We are again working
with Fairway
Flyerz so we're asking anyone who can to please bring
non-perishable food items to the CBWW on January 23th
and/or to the official Roseville Ice Bowl, the Fairway
Freezer, at Acorn Park on January 10th. Combined collections
will go towards stocking local food shelves. Thank you
to all who can help.
